Qigong Learning Institute

What is Qigong?

Qigong literally translates as “energy work”. Qigong is not T’ai Chi – these two are often used interchangeably even though they are distinct. T’ai Chi is a moving meditation that has martial art aspects (self defense application).

Qigong can be further be broken down into two areas: Qigong and Medical Qigong.

The difference between them is vast. Plenty of people practice Qigong without any idea or a very limited understanding of what is going on or what can be done. On the medical side of Qigong it allows you to go much deeper – experiences are much more profound and it is limitless.

Another key reason why Medical Qigong is sought after is that nearly all Medical Qigong exercises can be done laying down, sitting or standing. This is not the case with most standard Qigong practices.

We have worked with people from speeding up the healing and mending of broken bones, tumors, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, substance abuse, stress reduction, cancer, trauma and many other areas. Qigong is not a fix-all but it can heal many ailments and conditions.

Qigong is a fantastic preventative maintenance program which is easy to learn and can be done by all.

He has treated and continues to treat spiritual disorders, emotional disorders, mental disorders, and a wide array of physical disorders. He became the first InnerChi T’ai Chi and Taoist Yoga instructor on the West Coast on May 1st 1997. Dr. Bombalier believes that “whatever you think about expands, and that mind is greatly underestimated in making things happen. A change of mindset is necessary to take the lead in improving one’s life. Whatever we think, good or bad, has a higher chance of being realized; therefore, one is better served to have positive thoughts than waste precious energy on negative ones.” He suggests that everyone “meditate every day so that calmness and tranquility is a natural part of you. Take a few minutes every day in prayer or during a lull until your breathing is even and unhurried—you’d be amazed at how recharged you will feel after even a short session. To obtain power, one must remove the resistances.”
